![]() This is very true, once you get above a certain damage threshhold, it's a lot more about aiming position and play style than just "this weapon is always better than this other weapon". As stated by others, trade-offs and preferences matter. Aside from a few exceptions like an exploited Last Hope, I think the emphasis might be better if focused on education of game mechanics, not which of all weapon types is arguably the best. ![]() Originally posted by stcaFylnO:Yeah, Lars Daas' post, including info from OriginalUserName in post #11 is getting to the heart of the matter. Now if op asked for one weapon which he would want then this may have narrower parameters for what the answer would be as durability, walking/running speed when holding weapon, damage and swing speed would all count, but since op wants the best weapon in each type it is too wide a depth to precisely answerĪlso we need to take in ops level and whether they have unlocked legend levels or not There is no one weapon in each category which boasts considerably higher damage than the counterparts like if the heavy hewing axe had 15k damage whilst every other axe type had a max of 8, had this been the case then the list would be fairly simple and the question can be properly answered (it is possible to get 15k or more damage weapons but they are modded in so vanilla wise it wont count) Its mainly opinionated - we could all tell op the best one handed weapon is the extravagant military machete which op finds and uses but he then begins to use another machete which he finds "better" due to whatever reasons Someone will challenge me and argue they prefer the deadly firemans axe insteadĪnd yes i didnt mean kuai dagger, there was another i had which i couldnt remember the name which had high damage and quick hits Therefore i could say the heavy tribal axe is the best as mine has 8k damage or so and i find it useful when killing volatiles and a group of zombies in one sweep but op wants the best weapon of each category We need to make tradeoffs when we choose weapons and certains drawbacks are not as bad while certain benefits are better than others. Batons compensate by having better damage, longer reach and just a bit slower swing speed. Knives are bad for self-defense because they don't stagger enemies(except goons for some reason) and are really short. They're too slow to be used against viral swarms, can't kill tanky zombies easily(on nightmare ng+ story 70%+) and have far worse DPS than properly upgraded knives(which are also better against goons, stunned demolishers, nests and aggressive hunters). The Kuai is meant for parkour boost, not for fighting.Įach weapon has different stats: damage, swing speed, length, upgrade compatiblity, poise-break etc.īig axes are bad because they do like 15-20%(5.5K machetes vs 6.5K bigaxes) more damage but are 60-70% slower and leave you open for 2 seconds between swings(43 max speed with 3 kings) which is not good. ![]() ![]() The Kuai Dagger is a bad fighting knife because it can't do more than 30% of the dmg of a Tribal knife and they have the same durability and speed. Some like small knives like a kuai dagger since its quick and can do lots of damage in small hits and others like a giant axe which does massive damage in one sweep Its what you think is best and suits you.
